i finally got my permit this week and it still hasn't fully sunk in that i can drive. a car. on the road. yesterday i was out on the road for the first time, driving my best friend home. i was really nervous, but i knew i could do it and i think having her in the car helped me stay focused. now that the first time is over and done with, i feel a lot better about my driving and more confident. although there is going to be multiple first times for me out on the road, i'll get there eventually. i'm just excited that i have my own set of keys now. i actually get to say "my car" now. i have a personal attachment to my car, her name is flossy, (we always name our cars in my family) and she's been in my family ever since i was born, so she's actually older than me, which is kinda weird in a way. anyways, she was my gammie's car and then she gave it to me about a year ago so we could repair minor things and whatnot. it means a lot more to me to have the car i have now instead of a brand new car. if that were the case, it wouldn't have very much meaning to me. my car has character, she's unique and has a couple quirks, but hey, so do i.
